THE FUNDAMENTAL DUTY OF FIGHTING SEXIST SPEECH IN TIMES OF SOCIAL NETWORKS

This article aims to discuss the fundamental duty of combating sexist discourse in times of social networks and to analyze the misogynistic behavior of individuals in the virtual environment and how this configures illegal acts to the detriment of guaranteeing the fundamental rights of women. For this, the method used will be the hypothetical-deductive, as well as the bibliographic research technique, with quantitative and qualitative approaches. This work aims to demonstrate that the new technologies, while presenting great potential for the promotion of democracy and accessibility, bring with them a great risk to the Fundamental Rights of the female population. Therefore, it is observed in the research the functioning and motivation of the perpetuation of sexism in social media and its serious constitutional damage to Fundamental Rights as a whole. Having overcome these problems, it is necessary to think about a more effective correction for these particulars, in order to minimize the harm caused by this issue.
